“At the event on June 6, Savvy will debut new music and donate personal artifacts to the museum’s permanent collection in a groundbreaking event that celebrates the rich legacy and vibrant future of Black artists in country music.
‘This moment is bigger than music—it’s about reclaiming history and telling the full story of the country through the lens of the Black cowboy,’ said Cortez Bryant, CMA board member and prominent music executive. ‘The CMA and NMAAM deserve major praise for helping country music evolve by honoring its Black roots while opening the door to a more honest, inclusive, and representative future.’
The event will feature a keynote from Grammy-nominated duo War and Treaty and live performances by prominent black artists. The NMAAM will also unveil historical artifacts curated by Savvy, drawn from his Richland Farms roots—one of the few remaining Black family-owned ranches in the U.S., located in the heart of Compton.”
From its soulful roots to its modern-day trailblazers, country music has always been ours too, and Randy Savvy is here to honor that legacy in style. Expect unforgettable live performances, inspiring conversations, and a vibe that will remind everyone why Black culture is inseparable from American music history.
