Florida A&M got contributions from every part of their lineup in a 14-4 win over Grambling State on Thursday to reach the SWAC tournament semifinals.

Sophomore Carson Kelly (6-1) got the win out of the bullpen for Florida A&M (32-23). The left-hander went 3.2 innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on five hits, allowing no walks and striking out one. Senior Jesus Campa started the ballgame and went 4.1 innings, surrendering one run on seven hits, walking one, and striking out four.

The Rattlers, who have now won 13 straight, got the scoring started early, putting two runs on the board at the bottom of the first inning, but the game was still scoreless. Florida A&M plated two runs when freshman Jay Campbell left the yard with junior William Brown aboard.

The Tigers then gained ground, narrowing the lead to 2-1 until the Rattlers expanded their advantage in the fifth. The Florida A&M offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a one-run single off the bat of senior Colton Ryals, which brought the score to 6-1 in favor of the Rattlers.

Grambling narrowed Florida A&M’s lead to 6-2 before the Rattlers stretched the advantage to 11-2 in the seventh inning. The Rattlers’ bats heated up in the inning, scoring five runs, including a one-run single off the bat of junior Jordan Brown.

The Tigers closed the gap to 11-4 before Florida A&M added some insurance in the eighth. A two-run homer from Ryals punctuated the three-run frame for the Rattlers.
