AI is what is happening in our world and taking over the 21st century! AI stands for artificial intelligence and is the field of computer science focused on creating machines or software that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence.

While some have been skeptical about the future of their jobs with AI, other countries around the world believe that they have gotten a head start on the global AI race. Countries such as China, Canada, South Korea, and the UK are offering AI courses to their students beginning September 2025. The sole purpose of this is to offer this as an option to train the next generation.

Italy’s government announced a partnership with OpenAI as a version of Chat GPT customized for the education system. You might be more familiar with OpenAI than you think as they own Chat GPT. So where does that leave the U.S.? Are we being left behind when it comes to incorporating AI into our secondary schooling? Will others begin to surpass us? Even though we might not be introducing our Kindergartens to AI doesn’t mean that we are left out of this global AI race.

The United States is not last in artificial intelligence (AI); in fact, it remains a global leader in the field. As a country, we lead in several key AI metrics. We lead in private investments, machine learning models, and AI research & development. That’s not to say that shortly, we won’t introduce our younger children to AI, but for now the pace the United States is on is what they are comfortable with.
