Herman Buckman, a scholar, athlete, and spoken word artist from KIPP DC — College Preparatory Academy Public Charter School, has received scholarships from the U.S. State Department and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to pursue his undergraduate and postgraduate studies, with plans to become a lawyer and establish schools that expose young people to underrepresented white collar career fields.
