Norfolk State will visit the Monarchs Nov. 11, 2025, and host ODU at Echols Hall Nov. 11, 2026.

“It’s great that our two institutions have finally agreed to a home-and-home series,” Spartans head coach Robert Jones said. “I think this is wonderful for the city and the 757. Two storied basketball programs will now compete for the next two years … at least. We are excited about this crosstown rivalry.”

NSU athletic director Dr. Melody Webb added “This is tremendous news not only for Norfolk State and Old Dominion fans, but all basketball fans in the Hampton Roads community. This rivalry showcases the two premiere state universities of the beautiful city of Norfolk, allowing both programs to come together in the spirit of competition. I am confident that our fanbase’s presence will be heard loud and clear in both arenas, and I am certain our players, coaches, and administrators will make Spartan Nation proud.”
