It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter. But we just got a glimpse of them during a visit to Houston, and fans on social media couldn’t get enough of their favorite sisters.
If you somehow missed the viral footage on your timeline, allow us to bring you up to speed. The two young girls were recently spotted in Texas, where they accompanied their mother, grandmother Tina Knowles, and Kelly Rowland for the opening of the Knowles-Rowland House. Built in partnership with their childhood church, the building is a permanent housing development and community center dedicated to supporting people experiencing chronic homelessness.
While there, Blue was spotted looking cooler than everybody, rocking a Bathing Ape jersey, jeans, a cool pair of shades, and her signature honey blonde boho braids. Meanwhile, Rumi sported a black dress, a black and white cardigan, and an afro puff. And while their outfits were cute, what got people talking online were two sweet and hilarious moments that took place inside the ceremony.

The first happened during a choir performance at the event. While Bey stood and listened, she motioned for Rumi to get up, too. That’s when the little one pulled a funny move and only pretended to get up before sitting down again. But Bey went into mama mode – giving her youngest daughter a sharp eye, she looked back and lightly grabbed Rumi’s arm to get her to stand all the way up.
Check out the clip below.
Fans online gave Queen Bey her props for getting her daughter together without making a scene.
“Rumi is the child you have to repeat yourself to more than twice because they’re going to test you every single time,” said one user on X/Twitter with laughing emojis.
“That’s a black mama right there; Beyoncé don’t play that,” said another.
“Bey run a strict program lol,” one other user added.
The other adorable moment came near the end of the ceremony when all of the ladies were onstage with church officials to cut the ribbon for the center. That’s when Rowland, overcome with emotion, began to tear up. Noticing her tears, Blue looked at her and said a few words before rubbing her back and giving her a hug.
Rumi responded similarly, stretching out her hand to rub Rowland’s hands in comfort. See the sweet moment for yourself below.
And as if the day couldn’t get any cuter, a visibly excited Rumi was also allowed to cut the ribbon. The comments blew up as fans couldn’t contain their excitement about seeing new clips of the Carter sisters together.
“Blue is sooooo good at being famous and handling herself in public omg. From the mannerisms, how she positions and handles herself. She’s truly her mother’s daughter. Except that her mom is shy. So, like her dad, she’s not shy,” wrote one user on TikTok.
“Blue Blue is so gorgeous,” wrote another.
Added one other person: “I love when Rumi is around. Never a dull moment.”
