Ebony’s 2026 Power 100 list features HBCU alumni including Common, Debbie Allen and Megan Thee Stallion, honored at a November gala.

Ebony Magazine has released its 2026 Power 100 list and it features several HBCU alumni. Per an email obtained by HBCU Pulse on ClutchPoints, Ebony says that the list “recognizes leaders, visionaries, and changemakers in a variety of categories” with the theme of “The Stories We Shape,” meant to “honor the people shaping culture, economic impact, and representation.”

This year’s list includes Florida A&M’s Common, Howard University’s Debbie Allen, and Texas Southern’s Megan Thee Stallion as notable alumni on the list.

“For generations, Ebony has been where Black excellence is named, documented and celebrated, and the Power 100 carries that responsibility forward,” Ebony CEO Eden Bridgeman said in a statement obtained by Variety. “This year’s honorees are shaping culture in real time, from the stage and the screen to the boardroom, the lab and the neighborhoods they serve. Recognizing them isn’t only about honoring what they’ve achieved – it’s about recordingthe history they’re making so the generations behind them can see what’s possible.”

She added, “‘The Stories We Shape’ reflects what Ebony has always stood for: the belief that narratives matter because they influence what people see, what they believe, and what they believe is possible. The stories we choose to tell become part of our culture, our history, and our future.”

Beginning with a 5 p.m. red carpet, Ebony’s Power 100 Gala will celebrate the magazine’s 2026 class on Monday, Nov. 9, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The awards ceremony starts at 7:30 p.m., with a post-reception at 10:30 p.m. The invite-only event is produced with Jesse Collins Entertainment, the Emmy-winning company behind the BET Awards and the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
